Privacy Policy
The short version: FairSpin collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking by us, and your entries never leave your device. The one outside element on the page is a small banner ad — see "Advertising" below.
What stays on your device
- Your entries. Names you type are kept in your browser's localStorage so your wheel is still there when you return. They are never sent anywhere — there is no server to send them to.
- Your settings and history. Sound preference, elimination mode, saved wheels, and spin history live in the same local storage, on your device only.
Share links
When you copy a share link, your wheel's entries are encoded directly into the URL
itself (in the part after the #). Anyone you send the link to can open the
wheel — but we never see it, because the link never touches our infrastructure. Note
that the # fragment is not sent to web servers, but anyone with the link
can read the entries, so don't share wheels containing sensitive names publicly.
Advertising
FairSpin is free, and a single banner ad helps keep it that way. Ads are served by a third-party advertising network, which loads its own script and may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. The ad is walled off from the picker: it has no access to your entries, wheels, or history, and FairSpin never sends anything you type to the ad network. If you block third-party scripts, the picker works exactly the same — only the banner disappears.
Clearing your data
Use "Clear" in the app to wipe entries, and "Clear history" to wipe the spin log. To remove everything FairSpin stored, clear your browser's site data for this page. Because we keep no server-side records, there is nothing to request or delete on our end.
Children
FairSpin is a general-purpose utility with no accounts and no data collection, making it suitable for classroom use. Teachers should still avoid putting sensitive student information into any online tool as a matter of good practice.
